Walmart Marketplace Fee Calculator

Estimate Walmart Marketplace's referral fee on a sale by category, and what you keep before your own costs. Walmart charges no monthly seller fee.

—

The result shows the referral fee on the total sales price — item price plus any shipping and handling you charge the buyer — and what remains before your item and delivery costs. Walmart charges no setup or monthly fee, so the referral fee is the standing per-sale cost for a seller who ships orders themselves.

Formula

Referral fee = category rate × total sales price. Total sales price = item price + shipping and handling charged to the buyer. Tiered categories split the total across price bands: Apparel is 5% up to $15, 10% from $15 to $20 and 15% above $20; Jewelry is 20% on the first $250 and 5% above $250.

How it works

Enter the item price and any shipping you charge the buyer, then pick the category closest to your product. Most categories, including home, toys and the general Everything Else bucket, pay 15%. Electronics pays 8% and personal computers 6%. For apparel and jewelry the calculator applies the tiered bands to the total sales price, not just the item price.

Worked example

A $60 home item with no buyer-paid shipping: the total sales price is $60.00 and the referral fee at 15% is $9.00, leaving $51.00 before item and delivery costs. The same $60 item in consumer electronics would pay 8%, which is $4.80, leaving $55.20.

FAQs

Does Walmart Marketplace charge a monthly fee?

No. There is no setup fee, monthly subscription or listing fee; you pay a referral fee only when an item sells, plus fulfillment costs if you use Walmart Fulfillment Services.

What is the most common Walmart referral fee?

15% of the total sales price, which covers most categories including home, toys, books and the Everything Else bucket.

Is the referral fee charged on shipping?

Yes. The fee is calculated on the total sales price, which includes the item price plus shipping, handling and gift-wrap charges you bill the buyer.

How do tiered categories work?

The rate changes across price bands of the total sales price. Apparel pays 5% up to $15, 10% from $15 to $20 and 15% above $20; jewelry pays 20% on the first $250 and 5% on the rest.

Why should I confirm my category in Seller Center?

Walmart assigns a contract category during item setup, and the rate on your Statements page is the one that actually applies. Published rates can change, so check yours before you lock in a price.

Stand: October 2026. Category rates are the published Walmart Marketplace schedule (Walmart Marketplace Learn referral fee schedule, last updated March 9, 2026); confirm your contract category rate in Seller Center before pricing.
