TikTok Shop Profit Calculator

See what a TikTok Shop sale really leaves you after the platform fee, the creator cut, your product cost and shipping.

—

Referral rate note: TikTok Shop US referral rates are set by category. Published guides checked against TikTok Shop Seller University in October 2026 list 6% for most categories and 5% for some jewelry and pre-owned categories, while some trade reports claim an increase to around 8% for most non-food categories in August 2026. The rate field below is editable, so enter the rate shown on your own settlement statement if it differs from the 6% default.

Formula

Profit = item price − product cost − shipping cost you pay − referral fee − affiliate commission, where referral fee = referral rate × item price and affiliate commission = affiliate rate × item price. Margin = profit ÷ item price × 100.

How it works

Enter the item price, what the product costs you, what shipping costs you, your referral rate and the affiliate rate you pay creators. The calculator deducts each line in turn and shows profit per sale plus the profit margin, so you can see whether the creator cut still leaves room for profit.

Worked example

A $35 item with a $12 product cost, $6 shipping cost, 6% referral rate and 15% affiliate commission: referral fee 6% of $35.00 = $2.10, affiliate commission 15% of $35.00 = $5.25. Profit = $35.00 − $12.00 − $6.00 − $2.10 − $5.25 = $9.65, a margin of 27.6% of the item price.

FAQs

What costs does this profit calculator include?

It includes the TikTok Shop referral fee, the creator affiliate commission you set, your product cost per unit and the shipping cost you pay. It does not include advertising spend, packaging extras, storage fees or return costs.

Should the affiliate rate be zero for my own videos?

Yes. If no creator drove the sale, set the affiliate commission to 0% and the calculator shows profit without a creator cut. Only affiliate-attributed orders pay the creator commission.

Why is profit lower than the fee calculator suggests?

The fee calculator only deducts the referral fee. Profit also deducts product cost, shipping and any creator commission, which is usually the largest single line on an affiliate-driven order.

What margin should I aim for?

There is no single right margin. After all five lines, the remaining profit must still cover returns, advertising and your time. If the margin is below 20%, test a higher price or a lower affiliate rate before scaling the product.

Does the referral rate field accept my category rate?

Yes. The default is 6% for most categories, but you can change it to your own category rate, for example 5% for some jewelry and pre-owned categories.

Stand: October 2026. The 6% referral rate used here is not sighted on an official TikTok page.

Note: some third-party reports say the standard US referral rate rose to 8% from August 4, 2026. TikTok's published category table still lists 6% for most categories (revised May 2026). Check your own rate in Seller Center and change the rate field if it differs.
