FBA Storage Fee Calculator
Estimate your monthly Amazon FBA storage bill from units on hand and packaged volume — including the October to December peak-season jump.
The result is your estimated monthly storage charge for the inventory you entered — not per sale. Amazon bills on average daily volume, so this is a planning estimate: if stock drains through the month, the real bill is lower; if you restock mid-month, it is higher.
Formula
Monthly storage = units in storage × packaged volume per unit × rate per cubic foot. Standard-size, non-dangerous goods: $0.78 per cubic foot January–September, $2.40 October–December. Oversize: $0.56 January–September, $1.40 October–December.
How it works
Enter how many units are sitting in FBA and the packaged volume of one unit (length × width × height in feet, after packing). Pick the size tier and the season — the October to December rate is roughly triple the rest of the year for standard-size goods, which is why Q4 overstock is so expensive.
Worked example
200 standard-size units at 0.5 cubic feet each = 100 cubic feet. January–September: 100 × $0.78 = $78.00 per month, or $0.39 per unit per month. October–December: 100 × $2.40 = $240.00 per month, or $1.20 per unit per month. The same stock costs $162.00 more per month in peak season.
FAQs
What is packaged volume?
The size of the unit as Amazon receives it, including its own packaging — not the bare product. Measure length × width × height in inches, divide by 1,728 to get cubic feet.
Does this include aged-inventory surcharges?
No. Stock held for a long time attracts extra surcharges on top of the monthly rate, and dangerous goods have higher rates. This calculator covers the base monthly rate for non-dangerous goods only.
Why is October to December so much more expensive?
Amazon charges a peak-season storage rate in Q4, when warehouse space is scarcest. Standard-size jumps from $0.78 to $2.40 per cubic foot.
Is the bill based on units at month end?
No — Amazon uses average daily inventory volume across the month, billed the following month. This calculator assumes your entered unit count stays flat all month.
How do I cut this bill?
Send less, more often; move slow stock to a cheaper bulk store or remove it before Q4; and check the size tier — a small packaging change can move a unit to a cheaper tier.
