Etsy Ads Profit Calculator
Judge an Etsy Ads campaign on profit, not clicks: ad spend, orders and product costs in, true profit and return on ad spend out.
Profit after ads is revenue from ad-driven orders minus ad spend, product and fulfillment costs, and Etsy fees on those orders. ROAS alone can flatter a campaign — a 3.5x ROAS still loses money if product costs and fees eat more than the revenue leaves behind.
Formula
Revenue = orders × average order value. Etsy fees = revenue × fee rate + orders × listing fee. Profit = revenue − ad spend − (orders × cost per order) − Etsy fees. Average CPC = ad spend ÷ clicks. ROAS = revenue ÷ ad spend.
How it works
Enter your real dashboard figures: total spend, clicks and attributed orders, plus your average order value and cost per order. The fee rate field is editable on purpose — enter the combined transaction and payment rate that applies to your shop rather than trusting a preset, and keep Offsite Ads fees separate if they apply.
Worked example
Ad spend $300.00, 750 clicks, 30 orders at $35.00 average = $1,050.00 revenue. Average CPC = $300.00 ÷ 750 = $0.40. Conversion = 30 ÷ 750 = 4.00%. Etsy fees at 9.5% of revenue ($99.75) plus 30 × $0.20 listing fees ($6.00) = $105.75. Product costs 30 × $15.00 = $450.00. Profit = $1,050.00 − $300.00 − $450.00 − $105.75 = $194.25. ROAS = $1,050.00 ÷ $300.00 = 3.50x.
FAQs
What is the minimum Etsy Ads budget?
Etsy sets a minimum daily budget of $1, and new shops wait 15 days after opening before they can start a campaign. Starting maximum daily budgets are $25 and are recalculated weekly.
Is cost per click fixed by Etsy?
No. Etsy does not publish a fixed CPC — you pay per click from your daily budget, and the actual average CPC varies by listing and competition. Always use your dashboard's real CPC, not a blog average.
Are Offsite Ads included here?
No. Offsite Ads charge a percentage of an attributed sale (12–15% depending on shop history, capped per order) instead of per click. If Offsite Ads drove some of these orders, add that fee separately.
Why is my ROAS good but profit negative?
Because ROAS ignores product cost and platform fees. A campaign needs revenue to cover ad spend plus product, fulfillment and fees before it is profitable — this calculator shows that full picture.
How long should I test before judging?
Etsy recommends letting a campaign run around 30 days so the system gathers enough data. Judge on profit across the test, not on a single day's clicks.
